HOLLYWOOD'S EXODUS

Chances are you've seen our actors on these hit TV dramas filmed in the Southeast: HOMELAND, NASHVILLE, THE WALKING DEAD, ARMY WIVES, etc. For decades, the Southeast has been the ideal backdrop for many of your favorite feature films, thanks to its beautiful scenery and lucrative tax breaks. TV productions have taken notice. Only two of the 23 new one-hour dramas for the upcoming season will be shot in Los Angeles, as cost-conscious producers seek tax-friendly production havens in Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and other states. Though L.A. still hosts the bulk of new half-hour comedies and reality shows, dramas are more prized because they use bigger crews and have bigger budgets.
